Carliko Rental Terms
These terms apply to every rental booked on Carliko. The rental contract is between you (the renter) and the partner who lists the vehicle on Carliko. Carliko is the platform that connects you, processes the booking, and mediates disputes when they arise.
1. Who can rent
- At least 21 years old
- Valid driver's licence held for at least 1 year
- Valid ID at pickup: national ID for Gabonese residents, passport for foreign visitors
- Foreign visitors must also present an international driving permit
2. Security deposit
Each partner sets the security deposit for their vehicle. The amount is shown on the car's page before you book. The deposit is held during the rental and refunded after the vehicle is returned in the same condition it was handed over, with no fines or damage to deduct.
3. What's included
- Unlimited mileage within Gabon
- Third-party liability insurance covering damage caused to other people or property

- Damage to the rented vehicle (the renter is responsible)
- Fuel
- Traffic fines and tolls incurred during the rental
- Any cross-border travel
5. Fuel
The vehicle is handed over with a fuel level recorded by the partner. You return it at the same level. If you return it lower, the partner deducts the missing fuel cost from your deposit.
6. Late return
A 30-minute grace period applies after the agreed return time. Beyond that, an additional full day of rental is charged automatically. If you'll be late, contact the partner or Carliko support as soon as possible.
7. Where you can drive
The vehicle can be driven anywhere within Gabon. Cross-border travel into Cameroon, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, or any other country is not allowed without prior written approval from both Carliko and the partner. Insurance does not cover unauthorized cross-border travel.
8. Traffic fines and tolls
You are responsible for any traffic fines, parking tickets, tolls, or other infractions that occur during the rental. These can be charged to your security deposit or invoiced separately if the deposit doesn't cover them.
9. How to use the vehicle
- No smoking or vaping inside the vehicle
- No pets
- No off-road driving unless the vehicle is specifically listed for it
- No transporting goods or passengers for paid services
- Only the registered renter and any approved additional drivers may drive
Violations may result in deposit forfeiture and the rental being terminated.
10. Damage and accidents
If the vehicle is damaged, contact the partner and Carliko support immediately. Take photos. If the damage involves another vehicle or property, file a police report and share it with the partner. The renter is liable for any damage to the rented vehicle that is not covered by the partner's insurance.
11. Pickup and return
The pickup time, return time, and location are agreed at booking. Both the renter and the partner must inspect the vehicle together at pickup and return, noting any existing damage and the fuel level.
12. Carliko's role
Carliko is a marketplace, not a rental company. The rental contract is between you and the partner who lists the vehicle. Carliko mediates disputes when they arise but is not a party to the rental itself.
13. Payment
All bookings are paid through Carliko at the time of booking. Accepted methods: Airtel Money, Moov Money, and bank card. Cash is not accepted for bookings. The deposit may be collected separately by the partner at pickup, depending on the partner's setup.

Carliko Cancellation Policy
This policy applies to every booking made on Carliko.
Refunds based on when you cancel:
- More than 48 hours before pickup: full refund (100%)
- Between 48 hours and 24 hours before pickup: 50% refund
- Less than 24 hours before pickup, or no-show: no refund

When you'll get your money back:
Refunds are processed within 3 business days of the cancellation being confirmed. How fast it reaches you depends on your payment method:
- Mobile Money (Airtel Money, Moov Money): usually 1-3 days
- Bank card: usually 5-10 business days
If the partner cancels your booking:
You receive a 100% refund. Carliko's support team will also help you find another available car for the same dates if possible.
If Carliko cancels your booking:
You receive a 100% refund.
